About The Technique

Alexander Technique is a unique approach to posture and movement.  It has been used for over one hundred years as a means of improving coordination, relieving tension and pain, preventing injury, and improving performance. 

Do you stoop and slouch?  Is it difficult to stand or sit upright for long periods of time?  Do you feel stiff or sore as you go about your daily activities?  Alexander Technique will help you shed postural tendencies that create tension and pain, and rediscover your body’s innate capacity for free, efficient movement.

Lessons

Lessons are taught one-to-one, with the student being guided through a variety of activities ranging from simple (sitting and standing, speaking, walking, etc.) to more complex (playing an instrument, throwing a ball, etc.).  Each activity serves as a basis for observing and developing postural habits.  The teacher provides hands-on and verbal guidance while explaining the essentials of the Technique.  Although you’ll be an active participant, lessons aren’t physically demanding and should leave you feeling relaxed and energized.  Click here for scheduling
